East Coast Livin'
Helllo!
Apologies for the week-long absence. As it's currently Spring Break, my family decided to take a Saturday - Friday trip to the East Coast to tour colleges and do all that glorious high-school-senior stuff.
Chicago on the banks of Lake Michigan. Two hour layover in Chi-town before reaching the East! |
Have some iPhone photos taken through a plane window. I know I'm essentially multiplying the bad here, but how many bad^horrible attributes can I stack onto my "photography" until I'm out of excuses?
More Lake Michigan goodness. And clouds. |
Southwest Airlines has some pretty decent snacks. Trust me – I've cached seven packets of their Honey Roasted Peanuts and four (only) of their mini pretzels.
My future home? Very vaguely shot at around 10:30 PM. |
(Though I did get waitlisted from the one college whose interviewer specifically requested to see pictures of previous manicures. Ha.)
(If you have yet to apply to college and are reading this post, this metric probably isn't a great means with which to decide the next phase of your life.)
Maybe I'll do a mani later to commemorate submission of a Statement of Intent to Register. Or is that tacky? Hmmmm.
In all seriousness, though, super excited to live on the East for at least the next four years! But also super scared to leave California's Mediterranean climate – I've been spoiled with balmy weather my entire life, so anything below 50ºF is a hardcore winter for me. And 40-50º was how "warm" it was for the majority of last week! It's April. Spring. There were still piles of compacted dirty ice/snow on campus greens... I'm terrified.
But hey. Don't care, I'm a bear. ;) (And not the UC Berkeley type, either.)
